Print Shop Equipment Appraisals
M&E Appraisal Associates, Inc. (“M&EAA”) provides certified print shop equipment appraisals.
Greg Feinsinger, CMEA recently appraised the machinery & equipment of printing & binding operation. The subject machinery & equipment included a multiple color Hamada sheet fed offset press, an Adast multiple color sheet fed perfecting press, Heidelberg duplicators, a Xerox digital printing press, U.V. coaters, rotary and platen type die cutters, paper cutters, paper folders, booklet makers, saddle binders, perfect binders, computer to plate prepress equipment, and other printing and bindery support equipment.
Appraisal conclusions: the appraisal was completed for company acquisition purposes, under the Fair Market Value scenario. The printing presses were, older, although they had relatively low impressions. The values concluded for the presses were low, due to very minimal current demand. The value for the other equipment varied, dependent on type, age, condition, current market appeal, etc. As a general observation, the aggregate value concluded was higher than anticipated, as current demand for supporting printing, die cutting, bindery equipment is fairly strong.
