M&E Appraisal Associates, Inc. (“M&EAA”) provides certified stevedoring equipment appraisals. M&EAA recently appraised the machinery & equipment of a stevedoring company operating at a large port on the northeast Atlantic coast.

The subject machinery & equipment appraised included large capacity ship to shore cranes, loaded container handlers, empty container handlers, container reach stackers, container and chassis trailers, yard trucks, over the road vehicles, and associated support equipment.

Appraisal conclusions: the highest value items were the large capacity ship to shore cranes. These subject items were contemplated “as-is”, installed and considered for continued us. If these items were contemplated on a removal basis, they would have little to no value due to excessive removal costs. The other high value items specifically included the newer 5-high stacking container handlers and reach stackers.
