The subject chocolate making machinery & equipment included cocoa bean cleaning equipment, miconizing equipment, winnowing equipment, roasting equipment, storage & mixing tanks, milling & grinding equipment, conching lines, molding lines with cooling tunnels, filling & packaging equipment, lab equipment, material handling equipment, etc.

Appraisal conclusions: the subject machinery & equipment was inspected by the appraiser. A majority of the equipment was new, and in very good condition. In the five years prior to 2015, falling raw material prices subdued selling prices, while preference shifts and rising health consciousness among consumers have caused industry demand to fall. Industry performance is expected to improve as the subject company and other producers are expected to introduce healthier products to mitigate adverse perceptions toward chocolate. In addition, sugar and cocoa prices are expected to rise slowly, boosting the selling price of the end product. These economic factors were considered in conjuction with the good physical condition of the subject items, resulting in very favorable value conclusions.

Air Compressor & Air Dryer Manufacturing Equipment Appraisals

M&E Appraisal Associates, Inc. (“M&EAA”) provide certified air compressor manufacturing equipment appraisals. The president of M&EAA, Greg Feinsinger, recently appraised the machinery & equipment of an air compressor & air dryer manufacturing company.

Appraisal conclusions: the subject machinery & equipment was appraised under the Fair Value and Replacement Cost New scenarios. The appraiser inspected all subject machinery & equipment. A majority of the equipment was older, and many of the subject items inspected and appraised could not be identified on the existing depreciation schedule. The appraisal was specifically helpful to management in identifying all assets for the purpose of allocation of purchase price. As the equipment was generally older, the variance between Fair Value and Replacement Cost New was substantial. 

Cabinet Making Equipment Appraisals

Appraisal conclusions: the subject machinery & equipment was valued on a desktop basis, and was not observed by the appraiser. A majority of the subject machinery & equipment was manufactured by a single domestic original equipment manufacturer (“OEM”). These items were stated to be maintained under an annual maintenance program, and in very good condition for their stated age. Other subject items were determined to also be in good condition based on information from their respective OEM’s. After conducting further market research, the conclusions for all subject items were favorable, with limited exceptions.  

Concrete Block Production Equipment Appraisals

The values concluded for the concrete block forming molds, which were valued for continued use, were extremely favorable.

Storm Panel Manufacturing Equipment Appraisals

The subject items were valued under an in continued use premise, and favorable values were concluded. The economy for utility installation is also currently robust, which additionally supported the values concluded.

Rubber Manufacturing Equipment Appraisals

Roof Truss Manufacturing Equipment Appraisals

Appraisal Conclusions:  The subject machinery & equipment was in good condition. Demand for roof trusses has rebounded markedly. Resultantly, the market for good quality used roof truss manufacturing equipment has also improved. Final value conclusions for the subject machinery & equipment were very favorable.

Patio Furniture Manufacturing Equipment Appraisals

M&E Appraisal Associates, Inc. (“M&EAA”) provide certified patio furniture manufacturing equipment appraisals.

Greg Feinsinger, CMEA recently appraised the machinery & equipment of a patio furniture manufacturing company. The subject machinery & equipment included roll formers, coil steel stamping lines, hydraulic benders, OBI and gap bed stamping presses, metal cutting saws, mig/tig welders, a large capacity electrostatic powder coating line, and a substantial amount of proprietary welding jigs, stamping dies, die casting dies, and multiple cavity plastic injection molds.

Appraisal Conclusions:  The appraisal was completed under the Fair Market Value – In Continued Use premise. The he standard metal working equipment was generally in good condition, and had varying degrees of market appeal and resultant value.  The electrostatic powder coating line had extremely high value, due to the lines inherent installation features. The welding jigs, molds, and dies had high value under the continued use premise. This classification of assets would have low or no value under a removal value scenario.
